Definitely an improvement from the art in Sgt. Not as realistic as the cover artwork, but the illustrations are still very nice and the different space-dogs are very cute. I also quite enjoyed the artwork in this one, as well. The authors did a good job of portraying Laika herself, and I enjoyed the little details added like the various nicknames the scientists had for her. This one was also well written, and I thought they did a good job of handling the ending in a sensitive manner. It's a quick read, and I'm should would be well-loved by animal lovers of any age (view spoiler) Does it count as a spoiler if it happened in the 60s? Not sure what to say that hasn't been said about the other books in the series.
